Introduction to electrofused white corundum

Home – Single Post

After years of development, China’s electrofused white corundum production process has developed and matured, and can fully meet the needs of large-scale production. Electrofused white corundum, a kind of white artificial gemstone made of aluminium oxide as raw material and melted at high temperature, has high purity, high density and physical and chemical properties. It plays an important role in industrial manufacturing, crafts production and other fields, and is a powerful assistant in grinding, polishing, sandblasting and other operations.

I. Characteristics of electrofused white corundum

Good thermal stability: it can still keep its physical properties stable under high temperature environment, which is suitable for processing and treatment under various high temperature environments.

High purity: Electrofused white corundum is of high purity and contains almost no impurities, thus it has good grinding performance and polishing effect.

High Density: The high density makes the grinding power of electrofused white corundum stronger, and it can remove the defects on the surface of the material very well.

High hardness: with strong hardness, it can withstand larger grinding force and polishing pressure.

Strong chemical stability: it is not easy to react with other substances, and is suitable for various acid and alkali environments.

Second, the application field of electrofused white corundum

Sand blasting: In the surface treatment industry, it is used for sand blasting, removing oxidised skin and other treatments with good effect.

Grinding: Widely used in the grinding of various hard materials, such as glass, ceramics, stone and so on.

Polishing: Used for polishing of various metal and non-metal materials, such as gold, silver, copper, aluminium, etc.

Other applications: In addition, it is also used for making refractory materials, jewellery ornaments and handicrafts.

Third, the production process of electrofused white corundum

The production process of electrofusion white corundum mainly includes the following steps:

Preparation of alumina raw materials: select high-purity alumina powder, after drying, crushing, screening and other processes to ensure that the particle size and purity of raw materials.

Melting: The alumina powder is melted into molten aluminium oxide glass at high temperature.

Cooling: The molten aluminium oxide glass is quickly cooled to get white artificial gemstones.

Crushing and sieving: The artificial stones are crushed and sieved to obtain electrofused white corundum with different particle sizes.

Electrofused white corundum is an abrasive and polishing material with a wide range of applications and excellent physical and chemical properties. Understanding and mastering its production process, characteristics, application areas and precautions for use are of great significance in utilising its advantages and giving full play to its value.
